How do I pay a city/parking citation?
You may mail your payment, along with the copy of the citation, to Dayton Police Department, 514 6th
Avenue Dayton, Kentucky 41074. You may also pay the citation in person, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. After seven (7) days the fine for the city/parking citation is doubled.
How do I contest a city/parking citation?
You may fill out a “request for hearing form” at the Dayton Police Department within seven (7) days of
receiving the city/parking citation.
If my vehicle was towed, what do I do?
Pick up a release form for the towed vehicle from the Dayton Police Department. Take the signed copy of
the release form to Fenders Towing in Newport, Kentucky for release of the vehicle.
How can I report an abandoned vehicle?
If the vehicle is located on city-owned property or a city street, call the police department at 859-261-1471
and report the location and type of vehicle. The officer will mark the vehicle to ensure that the vehicle is in
fact abandoned. The officer will follow-up to see that the vehicle has been removed and, if not, will call for a
tow truck.
